This black tea from the Yunnan region of China is perhaps the most esoteric of Chinese varieties. It has a pronounced earthy aroma and taste,  very popular in China due to its property as a slimming diet tea. Pu-erh is referred to as a ''diet tea'' because it is said to help your body digest fat and saturated oils which makes it perfect after a heavy meal. Recent studies seem to support this claim, but attribute this property to all teas.
